Apple Celebrates Macintosh's 30th Anniversary

Yesterday was the 30th birthday of the Macintosh. Apple celebrated the day with quite a number of events including special Apple Store displays, performance at the HQ from OneRepublic, a special Apple homepage and a special section in the Mac App Store.

Special Apple Homepage and webpages
Apple took over its homepage with photos of the Macintosh 128K and the iMac. The company also create a minisite which shows the Mac Timeline and how people used the Macintosh since the introduction of the Macintosh. Apple also made a video for this special occasion.

Headquater Specials
Apple posted large posters all around the campus in Cupertino, including one which included every former and current employee, keeping their promise 30 years ago to thank those who made the Macintosh successful. 

In addition to all these posters, Apple invited OneRepublic to perform in the headquater. 

Apple Store Specials
Apple also redecorated select Apple Stores which have special LED window display installed back in Christmas. iPads and iPhones are removed to make space for the special display. Posters are also posted at the entrance of every Apple Stores. 

Apple Retail staffs also received t-shirts and they will be wearing them throughout the week. 


Special Section in the Mac App Store
Apple also created a new section in the Mac App Store showing Apple apps and some other apps from developers.
